History of Islamabad

Islamabad is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Being located in the middle of the mountains further enhances the beauty of Islamabad. The credit for Islamabad's existence goes to the then Pakistani President Sir Ayub, who created a commission headed by General Ishaq in 1958. A Greek , Konstantinos Apostolos Doxiadis has designed and planned the city. Islamabad was formally granted a capital status in 1964. Islamabad has a population of around two million and is the 9th largest city in Pakistan. Urdu is the most spoken language but there are also English, Potohari, Punjabi and Pashto speakers. Islamabad covers an area of ​​906 sq km.
